North Carolina police officers kneel, show support at protest against police brutality and violence
After four nights of protests, Raleigh police showed a simple gesture, taking a knee to show support.

Longtime community activist, Dr. Kimberly Muktarian, said it was her idea. She is the president of Save Our Sons and has been working with police and other community advocates for years.

"The citizens here in Raleigh have seen tremendous hurt and pain among our black community," Muktarian said. "And we have been relentless bombarding our city council members, our chief of police as well as our mayor.
Activists are calling for the police chief to resign and no new police stations in black communities. They are also calling on officers to intervene when a fellow cop becomes abusive.

In Fayetteville, a line of dozens of uniformed officers showed support in front of protesters blocking the street. A drone video, shared by Fayetteville police, shows officers also kneeling down in front of the protesters. Moments later, the protesters also take a knee.
