Gas prices continue to fall in metro Detroit, down 2.8 cents this week

(WXYZ) — Gas prices are continuing to go down across metro Detroit despite heading toward the Fourth of July holiday. According to GasBuddy's analysis of more than 1,700 gas stations, Detroit gas prices are down an average of 2.8 cents per gallon in the psst week to the average of $2.72 per gallon.

That's also significantly lower than this time last month, down 149 cents, and 21.3 cents per gallon lower than a year ago.

The national average for gas has also fallen 2.5 cents per gallon, averaging $2.65 today.

The cheapest station in Detroit is $2.39 per gallon, accoridng to GasBuddy, while the most expensive is $3.49 per gallon. The lowest price in the state is $2.29 per gallon, and the cheapeast price in the country is $1.92 per gallon.

Ann Arbor is also down to an average of $2.71 per gallon, Flint is down to $2.64 per gallon and Toledo is up to $2.54 per gallon.
