DETROIT (WXYZ) — One person of interest is in custody two days after a man was assaulted on Detroit's west side.

The person of interest, who remains unnamed at this time, was arrested at 2:50 p.m. Sunday.

A second person is being sought after by the Detroit Police Department. That person is described as a white male, possibly in his 30s.

The victim, 24, and his sister, 26, were walking in the area of Plainview and West Warren around 11:15 p.m., when a burgundy truck pulled up alongside them.

One of the suspects in the pickup truck asked if the sister was a prostitute. The brother told the man his sister was not a prostitute. Two men then jumped out of the truck and started kicking, stomping and beating the brother to the point of unconsciousness.

The suspects got back into the vehicle and sped off.

The victim suffered multiple contusions to his face and head. He was taken to a local hospital, but is now at home recovering.

Anyone with information about the physical assault is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (800) SPEAK-UP.
