President Donald Trump raised more than $215,000 from individual donors in South Carolina from April through June.
Former Vice President Joe Biden led the Democratic field of presidential candidates in the state with $129,476 raised in the quarter. Pete Buttigieg raised $111,896.
The other 13 Democratic candidates to receive at least 1 percent support in the latest NBC/Wall Street Journal poll raised a combined $112,326.
WYFF News 4 Investigates analyzed July reports from the candidates filed with the Federal Election Commission, looking only at individual contributions for people in South Carolina.
Spreading out the support
Trump racked up 1,146 unique donors in the second quarter.
The Democrats combined brought in campaign contributions from 708 different people in South Carolina in the quarter.
While Biden outraised his Democratic competition, Buttigieg and Sanders had more individual donors.
The figures equate to Biden having the largest average donation, at more than $938 per donor.
Trump’s average settled just below $188 per donor.
Money coming from Greenville
Greenville donors gave Trump more support than donors in any other city in the state.
He received $17,206 in Greenville, compared to $10,685 in Charleston and $8,966 in Myrtle Beach.
Biden received twice as much from Columbia as any other city.
Buttigieg pulled in significantly more from Charleston donors at $57,190, compared to $10,810 from Mount Pleasant and $4,675 from Greenville.
No Democrat brought in more support from people in Greenville than Kamala Harris. She made $6,404 in the city in the second quarter.
Tracking the candidates ... and their cash
WYFF News 4 has tracked more South Carolina campaign events for Cory Booker – 32 – and Marianne Williamson – 28 – than any of the other candidates running for president.
Booker was eighth among the Democrats in second quarter fundraising in the state and Williamson was ninth. They both brought in less than $3,500.
