Flood warning issued

According to the National Weather Service, a flood warning was issued for Washakie, Hot Springs, Big Horn and Fremont counties.

A FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 100 AM MDT FOR EASTERN HOT

SPRINGS...EAST CENTRAL FREMONT AND CENTRAL WASHAKIE COUNTIES...

At 844 PM MDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated an

area of heavy rainfall was continuing across the warned area. Up to

two inches of rain have already fallen.

Some locations that will experience flooding include...

Worland, Thermopolis, Lucerne, Kirby, Winchester, Lysite, Hamilton

Dome, Lost Cabin, Hot Springs State Park, Worland Municipal Airport,

Cottonwood Pass, Boysen State Park, Wyoming Boys School, Hot Springs

County Airport, Bonneville, Washakie County Fairgrounds and Hot

Springs County Fairgrounds.

In Big Horn County, Some locations that will experience flooding include...

Basin, Manderson, Hyattville, Paintrock Canyon, Medicine Lodge

Archaeological Site, Upper Medicine Lodge Lake and Big Horn County

Fairgrounds.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood

deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the

dangers of flooding.
