CHEYENNE – Jayla Johnson and Corin Carruth scored 11 and 10 points, respectively, to help Kelly Walsh rally for a 56-49 victory over Cheyenne South at the Strannigan Invitational on Thursday.
South (0-1) was led by juniors Calysta Martinez and Riley Van Tassell, who both scored 10 points. Jaya Brown and Reagan Moore added eight points apiece.
The Bison play Jackson at 4 p.m. today.

CHEYENNE – The Lady Broncs scored just one point during the first quarter of their 47-38 season-opening loss to Moorcroft.
“We came out and played nervous and had a hard time getting it going,” Burns coach Barry Ward said.
The Broncs were without senior Erin Griess, who suffered a sprained ankle during practice this week.
Sophomore guard Rylee Ward posted 23 points and 11 steals.
Burns (0-1 overall) hosts Wyoming Indian at 7:30 p.m. tonight.

CHEYENNE – Cheyenne East opened the season with a 70-24 victory over Jackson on Thursday at the Casper Invitational in Riverton.
Seniors Madison Blaney and Ky Buell posted double-doubles for the preseason Class 4A No. 2-ranked Lady Thunderbirds (1-0). Blaney finished with a game-high 20 points and came down with 10 rebounds. Buell registered 19 points and added 10 assists and six rebounds.
"We got to play with the pace we wanted," second-year East coach Eric Westling said. "They were being the leaders the we wanted them to be. Really happy we played the way we wanted to our first game."
East plays Riverton at 5:30 p.m. today in Riverton.

CHEYENNE – Senior Jayla Jones scored 10 points to help the Lady Indians to a 49-39 victory over Riverton on Thursday.
Central led 22-21 at halftime.
“We just came out in the third quarter and were able to calm down a little bit,” Indians coach Glen Kirkbride said. “It was a really typical first game out for everybody. It was pretty sloppy.
“We took care of the ball a little better in the second half and were able to be a little more patient with what we were doing and make it work for us.”
Junior Baylee Delbridge added nine, while senior Ellie Fearneyhough chipped in with eight.
The Indians (1-0 overall) play Rock Springs at 10 a.m. today.
