CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Cheyenne Central wide receiver/defensive back, Andrew Johnson, was named to the Sports Illustrated All-American watch list heading into the 2020 high school football season.

“At first I was obviously very excited,” Johnson said. “Just honored that I made such an extinguished list.”

In his junior year, Johnson caught 73 passes for 994 yards and 15 touchdowns. On defense, he recorded 42 total tackles with one tackle for loss, one sack, and five interceptions, which was the second most in the state. These stats earned him 4A all-state selection honors for WR/DB.

“I’m just really thankful for all my coaches and everyone who’s helped me get to this point because a few years back all this stuff was for the future and finally being here and actually achieving something like that it’s really great.”

Johnson also plays baseball for Cheyenne Post 6 Sixers 18U.
