The Moms Demand Action group in Cheyenne thanked first responders and essential workers who are serving their community during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The group drew on the sidewalks with chalk outside of the Cheyenne Police Department and Laramie County Sheriff's Department buildings, as well as CRMC and both Cheyenne Albertson's locations.

"They were so swamped with people trying to get this, that, and the other thing when this thing first started," said Beth Cook, a member of Moms Demand Action. "We just want to thank them, so it's a community compassionate activity that we wanted to do."

While the awareness day was on Friday June 5, the group is urging community members to wear orange during the first weekend of June to recognize lives lost from gun violence.
