House arrest for Fairview Twp. woman who stabbed boyfriend

A Fairview Township woman has avoided prison for stabbing her boyfriend and will instead serve house arrest.

Freya Angelika Klein, 20, appeared in York County Court on Monday, Sept. 30, and was sentenced to two years of intensive probation, with the first six months on house arrest, according to court records.

She alsowas ordered to have no contact with her ex-boyfriend, court records state.

Klein pleaded guilty July 8 to simple assault. In exchange for her plea, charges of aggravated assault and possessing an instrument of crime were dropped, according to court records.

Fairview Township Police said Klein stabbed her then-boyfriend with a pocket knife in his arm and neck on Aug. 7, 2017.

Officers learned of the assault when they were called by Holy Spirit Hospital for a report of the stabbing victim being treated there, police said.

The victim said Klein stabbed him during an argument at her home on Umberto Avenue, court documents state.

Police said the man suffered a deep cut to his right forearm and a deep puncture wound to his chest, near his neck.

At the time, Klein told officers that her boyfriend agreed to leave after they were arguing. She told police he needed to get his sweatshirt out of her car, and she didn't want to unlock her car for him, documents state.

Klein said she was upset her boyfriend kept talking to her, so she grabbed his pocket knife, which was on a shelf, and stabbed him more than once, according to police.
