The controversy surrounding the 1975 European Cup final against Bayern Munich is still felt by supporters today manifested in the chant 'We are the Champions, Champions of Europe' - amid a feeling that the club was cheated of victory. These photos, a mix plucked from the YEP archive and others published courtesy of Varley Picture Agency, chart the course to the club's only European Cup final, a journey which ended in bitter disappointment, rioting, and a football ban.
