It was a battle of the big dogs in 1A football on Friday as #1 Big Horn travelled to meet #2 Upton-Sundance. Big Horn is the defending 1A champions and grabbed the lead in the 2nd quarter as quarterback Quinn McCafferty tossed a 10 yard TD pass to Will Pelissier on 4th down and goal no less to put the Rams on top 7-0. Later in the 3rd quarter, it was Pelissier throwing a TD pass to McCafferty on a play that covered 6 yards to bump the lead to 14-0. Pelissier wasn't finished as he galloped 34 yards to the end zone for this 2nd TD of the night so after 3 quarters, Big Horn led 2-0. The Rams added a 4th quarter touchdown as McCafferty lobbed one up for Ayden Philips for the last touchdown of the game. The Big Horn defense did a super job on the Upton-Sundance offense. Patriot running back Jayden Caylor is a powerful, multi-dimensional player and Big Horn get him in check. The Patriots didn't help themselves with 4 turnovers. Big Horn gets to 4-0 on the year with a 27-0 win over Upton Sundance. The Rams will host Pine Bluffs this week. The Patriots drop to 4-1 and will host Wright on Friday.
