Cheyenne East needed to put another win on the board to stay in a very tight race in 4A. The Thunderbirds did just that with a convincing win over Laramie on Friday night. East scored first in the first quarter as quarterback Graedyn Buell hooked up with Jackson Hesford for 15 yards and a touchdown so the T-Birds led 7-0.

In the 2nd quarter, Colton Haugen gave East some breathing room with a one-yard TD plunge so that increased the Thunderbird lead to 13.

It was a systematic approach for Cheyenne East in this contest with another touchdown in the 3rd quarter of play. Christian Anderton had a 5 yard run to the end zone and at this point, it was 20-0.

The Thunderbirds got to end zone twice in the 4th quarter. Anderton turned in a 30 yard run for a score and Jake Rayl had a 55-yard pick 6. Cheyenne East rebounded from a double-overtime loss last week to pound Laramie 33-0. The Thunderbirds are 4-2 with a big game this week against Cheyenne Central. Laramie drops to 1-5 and will take on Cheyenne South on Friday.
