Laramie entered Friday's 4A match-up with Gillette at 1-1, the Gillette camels started the evening 0-2 and this game was back and forth the whole way. Gillette scored 2 touchdowns in the first quarter, starting with a 9 run by Kaden Race and then a 12 yard run from Vijay Pitter. The 2nd quarter belonged to Laramie, Janson Adair had a pick 6, and Adair also ran a kick-off back for a touchdown. sandwiched in between that was an 18 yard run to the end zone by Pitter from Gillette. So at halftime, the camels led 21-20.

Pitter scored his 3rd touchdown of the game in the 3rd quarter to bump the lead to 27-20 then it was a wild 4th quarter. Conner Kilpack caught a 15 yard TD pass for Laramie. the plainsmen also recovered a fumble in the end zone for another touchdown. Gillette responded with 2 touchdowns, a 66 yard scoring reception from Zach Wilcox and pitter found the end zone for the 4th time. So it was 41-34 Gillette in the final seconds and Laramie came up some serious heroics as quarterback Garrett Dodd threw one that found the arms of Jansen air on the final play of regulation to tie the game at 41 and force overtime

in the extra session. gillette scored as race raced into the end zone from a dozen yards out to make it 48-41. Gillette made a huge play on defense in overtime to preserve the lead as Desmond Medina came up with an interception at the goal lone. Gillette breaks a 21 game losing streak with a 48-41 overtime win over Laramie. the camels travel to Cheyenne Central on Friday. Laramie will host Natrona.
