The #1 ranked volleyball team in 2A paid a visit to Glenrock on Saturday and it turned out to be an exciting, competitive match. Pine Bluffs was the State 2A runner-up a year ago and have a returning all-state player in Sophie Howard. There are 8 seniors on this Hornet team with Hyleigh and Maddie Fornstrom providing experience and leadership. Pine Bluffs is tall and athletic on the front line but Glenrock gave them everything they could handle. The Herders have a 2 time all-state player in Mandi Tvedt in addition to some enthusiastic play from Keely Ottersbach and Peyton Shadrick. In this match on Saturday, Pine Bluffs won the first set 25-12 but Glenrock came right back to win the 2nd set 25-19. In the 3rd set, Pine Bluffs prevailed 25-17 but Glenrock rallied to stay alive in the match with a 25-22 win in set 4. Pine Bluffs took the match 3-2 with a 15-10 win the 5th set. Pine Bluffs is now 23-3 on the year while Glenrock falls to 13-14.
