It's the last weekend of regular-season competition for high school cross country teams across the Cowboy State. The post-season begins next week.

There were four big meets across the state, but the weather has now interfered with one in Cheyenne. The other three are taking place on Friday in Gillette, Powell, and Rock Springs.

Thursday, Oct. 10:

Lyman Invite at Ft. Bridger = Canceled!

Friday, Oct. 11:

Leroy Sprague XC Invite in Cheyenne at Prairie View G.C. Canceled!

Rock Springs "Petey" Cross Country Invite at White Mountain G.C. - Evanston, Green River, Jackson, Lander, Lyman, Manila (UT), Mountain View, Riverton, Rock Springs, Star Valley

Elena Jensen of Lyman and Peter Visser of Star Valley won the individual crowns. Jensen captured the girls' race by 13 seconds, while Visser won by 26 seconds.

Star Valley swept the two team titles.

Pinnacle Bank Powell XC Invitational at Powell G.C. - Cody, Lovell, NSI, Powell, Riverton, Rocky Mountain, St. Stephens, Thermopolis, Tongue River, Worland

The Cody Fillies dominated and won by 51 points. Riley Smith and Baylee Stafford went 1-2.

The Tongue River boys took the team crown by seven points. Individually, Cody's Owen Preston won by 38 seconds.

Wayne Chaney Memorial Cross Country Invite in Gillette at Camplex Park - Big Horn, Buffalo, Campbell County, Douglas, Kelly Walsh, Moorcroft, Natrona County, Newcastle, Sheridan, Sundance, Thunder Basin

The Natrona Fillies edged Sheridan by four points for the team crown on the girls' side. NC's won the race. The Sheridan Broncs had five finish in the top eight and rolled to a 48-point victory. NC's Mason Henry won by 3.5 seconds. There were no times listed in the girls' varsity race. The varsity results begin on page 5.
