A man has appeared in court following the 'attempted abduction' of two teenage girls.

Craig Thomas has been charged with two counts of attempted abduction after it is alleged a man got out his car and tried to grab two young girls in First Avenue, Wolverhampton, at around 4pm on Saturday, February 9.

The 32-year-old, of Purslett Road, Wolverhampton, appeared at Walsall Magistrates Court on Monday (February 11).

He was remanded in custody to appear at Wolverhampton Crown Court on March 11.

West Midlands Police continue to appeal for witnesses and CCTV images have been released of several cars that were seen in the area at the time of the incident in a bid to get the drivers to come forward.

Police want to speak to the drivers of these vehicles, which were in the area at the time of the incident

A spokesman for the force said: "They may hold vital information."
